The story tells us that if you work hard, you’ll get a good result, like the shoemaker in this short story. He was very poor but he and his wife were very diligent in making shoes. Although he had only one last piece of leather, he still wanted to make a pair of shoes. To be students, we should learn their spirit of perseverance.
When the elves received the presents from the shoemaker, they felt very touched and delighted. Then, the shoemaker and his wife ran out and hugged the elves. The scene at that moment was full of warmness and happiness. Then, the elves decided to leave the shoemaker and went to other places to help other poor people. However, by the end, they stay with the shoemakers and helped them make shoes. They became a family and worked for the shoe shop.
After helping people, I am usually very glad and excited. I remember when I was still a primary student, I went to a supermarket. I saw a little boy crying loudly and he seemed to be finding someone. I asked him why he was crying, ‘Are you finding your mum?’ ‘I lost my way, I can’t find my mum!’ He replied. I gave him a tissue paper and took him to the counter. Actually, his mother was there and waiting for him. When they saw each other, they hugged each other. His mother thanked me and exalted my helping hand. At that time, I felt proud of myself and really loved to help people!
