Aesop / CY
The North Wind and the Sun were arguing who was more powerful. Suddenly they saw a traveller walking down the road, and the Sun said, "I have an idea. Who can cause that traveller to take off his coat shall be regarded as the stronger."
The North Wind replied, "Good. Let me begin first."
The North Wind began to blow very hard to the traveller. But the harder he blew, the more closely did the traveller wrap his coat round him. At last the North Wind had to give up. Then the Sun shone out and the traveller soon felt very hot. He found it too hot to walk and took off his coat.
Moral: Kindness is more effective than violence.
