Mercury is the planet closest to the Sun and is the eighth largest. It is too hot for anybody to live there.

In Roman myths, Mercury is the god of commerce and travel. In Greek myths, Mercury is the god Hermes, the messenger of the Gods. The planet was named Mercury probably because it moves so quickly.
